The Pains Wessex Distress Signal Miniflare MK8 is a compact flare launcher that features a penjector firing mechanism, fitted with a stainless steel spring & striker pin. The Miniflare MK8 comes with a slot for easy loading and unloading of flare cartridges. Although the Miniflare MK8 is designed primarily for use on yachts, dinghies, canoes, sailboards and other water vessels, it can also be used as a general purpose distress signal for any outdoor activity from hiking to skiing.
The Pains Wessex Distress Signal Miniflare MK8 is designed to be able to project a flare to a height of over 50m, which will then burn for 5 seconds at a minimum of 10,000 cd which allows it to be visible for a minimum of 5 miles during the day, which increases to over 10 miles at night. The Miniflare MK8 comes with easy operating instructions, perfect for emergency situations.
