The Odeo Electronic Distress Flare™ was designed to be the next generation of eVDSD. This electronic distress flare is the perfect alternative to the traditional pyrotechnic hand-held distress flare due to being designedin consideration to SOLAS requirements, however does not use any dangerous pyrotechnics. Traditional flares only burn for around 60 seconds before extinguishing, where as the Odeo Distress Flare™ is designed to last for up to 6 hours at full illumination, giving you a higher chance of being seen and rescued.
Unlike regular flares, the Odeo Electronic Distress Flare™ is able to be switched on and off, as well as being safe to post or carry in baggage on flights. This compact electronic flare was designed for marine use, however due to it's amazing design and functionality, it is able to be used for any outdoor activity from mountaineering to skiing.

Yes, the Odeo Electronic Distress Flare™ has been tested to IP68, which means it is completely protected against the ingress of solid objects and has been submerged in water up to 50 meters for 30 minutes. The Odeo Electronic Distress Flare™ has also been pressure tested to 100 meters for 1 hour, making it ideal for diving.
