The International Super Gloss HS is a high gloss yacht finish which has been optimised for easy roller application, ensuring that it is easy to apply even at low temperatures. The Super Gloss features a high solids formulationm which reduces odour and delivers full opacity in as little as 1-2 coats. This paint removes the effort required to obtain a high-gloss topside finish that comes with exceptional durability

Previously Painted (good condition)
- Wash down with suitable detergent.
- Rinse with fresh water & allow to dry.
- Abrade with 280-320 grade abrasive paper.
- Remove sanding dust.
Previously Painted (poor condition)
- Remove all previous coatings.
- Prime the substrate.
Bare Wood / Plywood
- Sand smooth with 80-180 grade abrasive paper.
- Sand again using 280 grade abrasive paper.
- Remove sanding dust by brushing or dusting.
- Wipe down thoroughly with solvent.
- Allow to dry completely
- Ensure that sanding dust is removed completely
- Prime using an International Primer.
Oily Woods (eg teak)
- Ensure the surface is thoroughly degreased using a suitable solvent.
- Sand smooth with 80-180 grade abrasive paper.
- Sand again using 280 grade abrasive paper.
- Remove sanding dust by brushing or dusting.
- Wipe down thoroughly with solvent.
- Allow to dry completely
- Ensure that sanding dust is removed completely
- Prime using an International Primer.
Aluminium
- Degrease with solvent or International Super Clear.
- Sand well using 60-180 grade aluminium compatible abrasive paper.
- Clean thoroughly & allow to dry.
- Prime using a suitable International Primer as soon as possible (within 8 hours).
Steel
- Degrease with solvent or International Super Clear.
- Gritblast to SA 2½ - near white metal surface.
- If gritblasting is not possible, grind the metal surface with 24-36 grit abrasive discs.
- Use an angle grinder on small areas.
- Clean throughly & allow to dry completely.
- Prime using an International Primer
GRP
- Degrease with a suitable cleaning agent.
- Sand well using P180/P220 grade sandpaper.
- Clean thoroughly & allow to dry.
- Use International One UP as a primer, and apply it in 2 layers on the bare gelcoat.
Ages / Weathered Gelcoats
- Degrease with solvent or International Super Clear.
- Sand well using 180-220 grade abrasive paper.
- Clean thoroughly & allow to dry.
- To avoid pinholing, apply 3 coats of an International 2-pack epoxy primer.
- Overcoat the primer with an International 2-pack undercoat.
