Hempel Hard Racing Boottop is a medium strength, self polishing antifouling for boottops. Suitable for most substrates, it provides bright clean colours and makes it a good choice for all waterline areas. The Hempel Hard Racing Boottop has high mechanical strength to ensure excellent crack resistance while also being suitable for dry sailing and being mud berthed.

No. Copper containing antifouling, such as the Hempel Hard Racing Boottop, must not have any electrical contact with aluminium (or other light alloy metals) hulls or components. Risk of corrosion in case of direct contact.
It is recommended you have used either the Hempel Light Primer or Hempel Underwater Primer prior to applying the Hempel Hard Racing Boottop.
New Build
- Remove salts, detergents, contaminants & marine growth with a high pressure fresh water wash.
- Prime the prepared surface with Hempel Light Primer.
- Apply a tiecoat of Hempel Underwater Primer while the surface is still tacky.
Maintenance & Repair
- Remove salts, detergents, contaminants & marine growth with a high pressure fresh water wash.
- Wet abrade the surface & remove dust.
- Dry the surface.
- Seal with 1 coat of Hempel Underwater Primer.
- If the previous antifoul is in general bad condition, it is recommended to remove the previous coats and prime before antifouling.
