Hempel Bilge & Locker Paint | 5112B
Bilge & Locker paint is a single component high opacity satin topcoat that provides excellent durability and is designed to be used on glass fibre, wood and steel. If applying product onto glass fibre, vigorously abrade the surface before application - priming is not necessary.
The Hempel Bilge & Locker Paint is resistant to water and oil, and also has fast drying capabilities at as quick as 3 hours. This topcoat is not suitable for permanent immersion.

Always ensure all surfaces are clean, oil free and dry. Clean the surface and remove possible oil and grease with a suitable detergent and sand with dry abrasive paper. It is recommended to apply a suitable wood treatment to new wood before coating. Carefully remove dust with fresh water.
If the surface is steel, remove salt and other contaminants by (high pressure) fresh water cleaning. Remove all rust and loose material by abrasive blasting or power tool cleaning. Dust off residues.
You can overcoat with Hempel Bilge & Locker Paint, however if the maximum overcoating interval has been exceeded then you will need to clean the surface with fresh water and allow to dry. Then lightly abrade and remove all dust prior to repainting.
If surface has been contaminated by oils and pollutants, thoroughly remove with suitable detergent, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Light abrade and remove all dust prior to repainting.
